Earlier this month, on February 4th, we marked the World Cancer Day and the need for early prevention, detection, and treatment.

It is reported that skin cancer is the 19th most common cancer worldwide. The incidence of skin cancer is highest in countries where UV index is important such as on the island of Mauritius.

In this context, our dermatologists at CIDP Mauritius raised awareness on the ill effects of ultraviolet rays (UV) on the skin and emphasized the need to protect oneself from the sun in view of the irreversible damage that these rays can cause.
